10/6/2023 0 Comments Reactive dog boarding![]() ![]() Willow is a lovely girl and is very eager to please. Willow the Cocker Spaniel has returned home after completing her 4 week residential training stayīeing a typical spaniel, Willow struggled with lead walking, settling and also attention barking and when over excited. We have been working hard on this and now Oscar can look to us instead of always choosing his bark! Pairing this with creating more value in ourselves has really helped lessen the barking with Oscar helping him on his journey to be an assistance dog!Īlongside this we have been working on Oscar recalling as he can choose to chase dogs or any sort of prey and so having him listen and respond to our voice is important!įinally we have worked on Oscar being calmer and less destructive in the house and choosing his bed more often and finally worked on a set of obedience to improve his communication and thinking skills! Well done Oscar!! Oscar could at times get very stuck in the outside world and would often choose to bark at things when investigating and this was even more prominent around other dogs! ![]() Oscar is a larger than life boy with a giant heart who is now home after a successful stay with his trainer! Oscar the St Bernard has completed his 5 week residential training stay with us Winnie used to pull like a train when out on walks and so we have also been working hard on teaching Winnie that even though she is a spaniel it doesn’t mean she needs to always move a million miles an hour! Winnie now walks really well on the short lead and her owners can now walk her without fear of hurting their shoulders!įinally work has been done on Winnie’s recall to ensure she comes at the first time of asking and not the 50th time! Winnie now loves recall and does it with a huge smile on her face and has done so well for a 2 week stay! Great job Winnie! We have worked hard on her understanding a range of basic obedience which allows us to communicate with her and she loves to respond to cues like down and middle with her family nowĪlongside this work has been done on teaching Winnie to be calmer around dogs and listen to their body language to avoid confrontation as before she was just a typical puppy who was always in the other dogs face! Winnie is a gorgeous little girl who struggled with a need for structure and communication with her owners who were worried she wasn’t listening to them! Winnie the Cocker Spaniel has completed her 2 week residential training stay We look forward to seeing him again soon!!! Hugo has been a wonderful student and an excellent house guest. His family wanted help with cue & marker consistency whilst he was on his holidays with us, to make transferring his new skills back to them, as easy as possible. His owners had put in a great amount of training with Hugo before his stay which allowed us to kick-start his training immediately □ĭue to Hugo's health issues it meant that understandably, his training took a back seat, so the training he had had was a bit muddled with his cues. But also that we are not going to say hello to every dog, sometimes we're going to walk past them nicely or remain in a stay whilst they pass us, without any added excitement barks from Hugo. ![]() He's now learnt that not everyone appreciates his loud hello's and are much more likely to have a polite sniff, if he approaches calmly. Hugo is a very happy young lad who used to think that every dog needed a loud hello whenever he'd see them. Hugo the 7 month old Miniature Schnauzer has completed his 2 week residential training stay with us.ĭuring his stay he's been working hard at polishing off his obedience cues and reshaping his approach when he sees another dog whilst out and about.
